Yes, Lifetime Has a Britney Spears Biopic in the Works

Lifetime is at it again with another biopic...this time, telling the story of Britney Spears! 

Yes, the pop singer is getting her own Lifetime movie. Directed by Leslie Libman, the biopic will go over the singer's rise to fame. The good, the bad, and the ugly, including her relationships with Justin Timberlake, Jason Alexander and Kevin Federline.


Australian actress Natasha Bassett (“Hail, Cesar!”) is set to star as Britney in the two-hour biopic, with production beginning on September 19 in Vancouver. The movie, with the working title Britney, will be produced by Asylum Entertainment. Surprise, surprise, though: Britney herself is reported not to be connected to the film at all! 

Lifetime's biopics are pretty hit and miss, so God only knows what will happen with this. The only one that was really good was Toni Braxton's biopic, Unbreak My Heart, and that's because she was actively involved in the project and allowed her music to be used. If Britney hasn't signed off on this, no telling what we're going to get. Guess we'll see next year when the film is released!
