RuPaul's Drag U!

Hello all. Here's a post for you today. Swear the summertime is right around the corner and I'm gonna stop slacking on my posts! LOL.

I am a HUGE fan of RuPaul's Drag Race, which showcases drag queens all over the country and puts them up against a series of challenges to fight to become the world's top drag superstar! It is hosted by the legendary RuPaul, as the name suggests, and features celebrity guests.

Well, according to BET Entertainment, Drag Race will branch out to a spin-off entitled RuPaul's Drag U, set to air in July on LOGO, a TV channel geared toward the LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender) community. This new series will bring together queens from both seasons of Drag Race as "professors" at Drag U to tranform overworked moms and housewives into the beautiful queens that they are and promote self-esteem. In the end, one mom or housewife will be the top student, after a series of challenges.

The show has the feel of VH1's Charm School with Mo'Nique and Ricki Lake. I definitely look forward to seeing it, especially since my favorite Jujube from the second season will be on it (yes, I'm obsessed). I know it will be very entertaining and inspiring! Hear from the drag professors in the video below, and be on the lookout for RuPaul's Drag U on LOGO!

"Ride"-Ciara Feat. Ludacris Official Video

What's up people? I know I've been gone for a bit. Forgive me. It's around finals time for me, so I've been struggling to balance Spotlight and school. But I'm back.

I'm not the hugest Ciara fan, but I have to admit that when it comes to dancing, she is the best. Vocals can be....interesting at times LOL but with dancing, she got every female in this game (yes even my girl Beyoncé). Here she is with her new video "Ride" featuring Ludacris just released this morning. Shout out to CarlJ for putting me on it.

Shakira To Build School in Haiti

Happy Monday, everybody! Hope your week is productive and blessed. Here's news for today.

Singer Shakira traveled to Haiti this past weekend to meet with child survivors of the Haiti earthquake, as her charity plans to build a school in the country, according to OMG! Yahoo.

Shakira explained that the school would be modeled after establishments created by her Pies Descalzos (Barefoot) Foundation. The foundation charity provides education, nutrition and psychological support to over six thousand Colombian children displaced by violence.

"We need to think about the future of this country and of how Haiti's children can be useful to their societies tomorrow ... Education is one of the fundamental tools with which to develop and rebuild Haiti," she said.

I think that it's great that Shakira is using her time and money to reach out to these children. The Haiti earthquake was a huge disaster, leaving 300,000 dead, and over a million homeless, most of them orphans. It definitely shows her compassion. Hopefully, this will be a start of rebuilding Haiti and the lives of those who are still there.

PEACE.

New Projects to Watch Out For...

Got some new projects for you guys to make sure you look out for in 2010!

After taking a mini hiatus after his outburst during the MTV Awards with Taylor Swift (which I don't condone, but he did speak truth LOL), Kanye will return to the rap game with a new CD this summer. The album, entitled "Good Ass Job" will be released in June, according to BET Blogs, and features production from NY producers PZA, Pete Rock, and Q-Tip. Q-Tip confirmed that he was working with Kanye on the project in a recent interview. Drake is also said to be featured on this CD :)

Good to see the man back. I mean, hey, I know sometimes Kanye is....well....Kanye, but he does have flow. So it'll be great to hear what he has in store. Just as long as it's not all singing this time LOL

Trey Songz is also working on some new projects himself. Trey's new mangager, Kevin Liles confirmed with MTV that Trey is in the studio prepping for his fourth CD which will be released September 14th! Trey also has a reality show coming with Young Jeezy, entitled "The Blueprint 3", that chronicles their journey with Jay-Z on the Blueprint 3 Tour. The show will premiere after this year's BET Awards on June 27. Trey also just wrapped up his own MTV Unplugged. Looks like Trey has been BUSY. Can't wait for all this to come out!
