REVIEW: 2016 MTV Video Music Awards

Sunday night (Aug. 28) was one of the biggest nights for MTV, the MTV Video Music Awards! 

The night start with the big preshow filled with appearances and great fashion on the white carpet from Britney Spears, The Chainsmokers, Beyoncé, and more, as well as hot performances by artists like Alessia Cara, Jidenna, and Lukas Graham.

Of course, it was great to see different artists take home Moonmen, but the most exciting part of these shows are always the performances! This year's lineup was absolutely crazy...probably the most excited I'd been for the VMAs in a while. With Britney, Bey, Rihanna, Kanye West, and more hitting the stage, it definitely made for a pretty good (though LONG) night!

The 2016 MTV Video Music Awards was incredible in terms of performances, and it was great to see different artists take home Moonmen (a full review will be up later)! 

Beyoncé won SIX awards, and officially beat the record for the most Moonmen won overall with 21 wins (Madonna previously held the record with 20)! Did your fave take home an award?

Rihanna Will Receive the Vanguard Award at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards

Rihanna will be the recipient of MTV's Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the Video Music Awards this year!

MTV made the announcement that RiRi would get the award, meaning we are sure to get a great medley of her music at the show on August 28! This is a huge honor for her, as it not only acknowledges her great visuals over the years, but her impact in pop culture overall, from music and fashion to film and philanthropy,

Beyoncé, Adele and Drake Lead the Pack in the 2016 MTV Video Music Award Nominations

MTV has announced the nominees for the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards!

To no one's surprise, Beyoncé topped everyone scoring a career high of 11 nominations all for her visual album, Lemonade! Adele received 8 nods for her videos for her hits "Hello" and "Send My Love (To Your New Lover)," while Drake was behind her with 6 noms, attributed to his hit "Hotline Bling" as well as fire collaboration with Rihanna on "Work!"

REVIEW: 2014 MTV Video Music Awards!

Last night was the MTV Video Music Awards, and I quite enjoyed myself watching! With high energy performances on deck, the night was definitely one to look forward to. Of course, it started with the Pre-Show with  Sway and other MTV correspondents interviewing the hottest celebs on the red carpet including Miley Cyrus, Jennifer Lopez, and more!

Ariana Grande opened up the show with "Break Free," which is still growing on me. Nicki Minaj then hit the stage with a short performance of her newest single "Anaconda," which I have to admit is my guilty pleasure song, especially when I'm working out and hitting my squats! The ladies then came came together with Jessie J for "Bang Bang!" Nicki had a dress malfunction with the quick change she had to do to get ready for her part of the song, but she managed to hold it together so she didn't flash anybody, thank goodness! Overall, the performance was great, and was an awesome way to open the show.

REVIEW: MTV Video Music Awards 2013

I'm still reeling off of the craziness that was last night's MTV's Video Music Awards! From Miley twerking to the *NSYNC reunion, there was a LOT to talk about, and my entire timeline was going off all night!

The pre-show, hosted by various MTV correspondents including my favorite Sway, had appearances from Robin Thicke, Miley Cyrus, Emeli Sande, Lady Gaga, and more! Danity Kane even showed up on the red carpet to make the official announcement that they are back!!! Well, minus D.Woods. She has "other projects," but she needs to put that to the side because DK is about to blow back up, and I'm so excited! Their new song, "Rage," will be released soon, and I can't wait to hear!
