RECAP: "Getting Serious"-Being Mary Jane S4, E9

BET

We're getting towards the end of this season of Being Mary Jane, and things are getting crazier each episode!

Picking up from last week, Lee and Mary Jane are still reeling from the news that Zoe wants to use Lee's sperm to have another kid! Apparently, the two of them were talking about having another baby before Zoe cheated, and Lee admits that their kids always wanted another baby brother or sister. Lee knows that Zoe will have the baby with or without him, and kind of doesn't want to be left out from it. He asks Mary Jane to let him clear his head for a minute, like he's actually considering this craziness!!!! That, of course, gets MJ emotional. Mary Jane wants a baby herself, and is really considering having one with him, so it's completely understandable that she wouldn't want him having a new kid around with his baby mama!

MJ definitely stood her ground at work on this episode of Being Mary Jane...but she has another big battle in front of her when it comes to Lee!

Picking up from last week, Lee's baby mama Zoe comes to NYC, meeting him and Mary Jane for dinner. Zoe and Lee are really close...a little bit too close for Mary Jane's liking! Lee and Zoe make crazy jokes about sex and other things, and Zoe even gets on him about minding his sodium level with his high blood pressure, which MJ didn't even know about! Who's the girlfriend here?! MJ pulls Lee to the side, and asks why the two of them aren't together. Lee reveals that Zoe cheated on him. Once that trust was broken, he couldn't go back. In a way, he still has feelings for her, as the mother of his kids and best friend, but he's not interested in her romantically. It looks though like Zoe might still be harboring some deeper feelings!

MTV

This latest episode of The Challenge: Invasion of the Champions was definitely a great one to watch!

Picking up from last week, a lot of romance going on, or at least being attempted! Most of the house, at this point, is drinking and having a good time. Nicole continues to try to flirt heavy with Cara Maria. Zach and Jenna have some awkward conversation, and it's clear that there is a spark between them still. Zach admits in a confessional that he ruined what was probably the best thing he's ever had, but will Jenna forgive him? Cory still tries to give Kailah the cold shoulder and wants to be left alone. Instead of giving in though, she still goes after him, and they have sex and reconnect.

Meanwhile, Nelson tries to get with Sylvia after he was just head over heels about Latoya some weeks before. When Sylvia rejects him, Nelson goes Incredible Hulk and starts lashing out, flipping over furniture and all! Why? Because everybody is drunk and needs to go to bed. I say this every season. Nobody wants to be with a crazy person who goes off like that when he gets drunk, Nelson! Both Tony and Camila see this, and realize that's exactly how they were on Rivals III before they got kicked off because of their tempers. They talk things through, and patch things up. It's good to see them both in much better places than before!

With performances from Katy Perry, Big Sean, Ed Sheeran, and more, the night was definitely packed with great moments in its two-hour live broadcast. It was great too to see other artists that maybe wouldn't typically win at the Grammys or another show take home an award here.

See if your favorite artist took home an award below!

Big development with MJ...she got to meet Lee's kids this week on Being Mary Jane

Picking up from last week's episode, Justin quizzes Mary Jane on her research for her interview with Judge McAllister. This is probably one of the biggest interviews of both of their careers, so they really have to knock it out of the park! Meanwhile, MJ buys a bunch of pool toys for Lee's kids, but Lee tells her that they're in middle school now. They'll probably be on their phones the whole time, anyway. It's nerve wrecking for Mary Jane to actually meet them. Obviously, she wants them to like her and is overcompensating a little bit with all of these toys!  Meanwhile, PJ goes out for a night with his boys at a lounge, and finds an old college schoolmate, Sunitha. He manages to snag a date with her, hoping to rekindle their flame!

Welp, the Champs have officially invaded the game on The Challenge: Invasion of the Champions!

Picking up from last week, TJ brings out the Champs, and reveals that the game is changing. It's going to be broken down into teams— the Champs versus everybody else (aka the Underdogs) from here on out! For each challenge you win as a team, you bank $10K  in your team bank account. Each day will either be a champion elimination day or underdog elimination day, and, in the elimination, you'll be battling members of your own team.

So, for the first challenge between the Champs and the Underdogs, TJ reveals they'll be playing Knockout. It'll be broken into guys and girls heats, with six Underdogs against four Champs. TJ will launch a ball out of a catapult, and everybody has to scrap to get the ball into their goal. The first team to score three times wins the heat. The first team to win two heats total wins the whole thing. And TJ adds another twist: the first underdog during both the girls' and guys' heats to score a point will choose a member of the opposite sex to go into elimination, since it's an underdog elimination day!

The 2017 Oscars, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, took place last night, and I'm still freaking out over the winners!

Moonlight was the big winner of the night, even taking home Best Picture (after the most awkward mix up I've ever seen on the Oscars!). La La Land, of course, had wins too, especially with Emma Stone taking home Best Actress for her role!

I'm really loving this season of Being Mary Jane way more than the rest! Tonight's episode was a perfect example as to why...

Picking up from last week, Mary Jane is doing another small segment outside in New York's brutal winter. Right before she goes off air, she gets hit with a snowball, and goes off right after the cameras cut! The cold, her correspondent gig, and being away from home is clearly getting to her. Kara calms her down with the news that that they will be covering the Racial Justice Coalition event honoring the 50th anniversary of Thurgood Marshall's confirmation in the Supreme Court. It'll happen down in Atlanta, so both Mary Jane and Kara (who's made a power move with Garrett to go) are excited to head back home!

RECAP: "Four Tickets to Paradise"-The Challenge: Invasion of the Champions, E4

MTV

Last night's episode of The Challenge: Invasion of the Champions was a game changer on a few fronts!

Picking up from last week, we find that there's only four tickets left to make it to the Oasis. Latoya, Sylvia, Amanda, Nelson, Shane, and Anthony are all without a spot, and will still have to fight for one this week...either in the challenge or at elimination. But, until then, everyone is still struggling at the Shelter. Of course, no Challenge would be complete without hookups though. Kailah and Cory get cozy and end up making out. They both just like to have fun, and Cory is a major player, so I don't see it being anything real. Later, another potential couple emerges in Nelson and Latoya, as they bond and talk about the game. Later, they make out on their cots, and, since the Shelter is so open, EVERYONE can see them. The two get a standing ovation from the house before taking their romp to the beach!

RECAP: "Getting Served"-Being Mary Jane S4, E5

BET

This episode of Being Mary Jane took us back down to the ATL to check in on Niecy and the rest of the Pattersons!

Picking up from last episode, Niecy goes out for a night on the town with her girls, blowing more of her settlement check on a VIP table with plenty of hookah and bottles. They get to talking about Dante, with Niecy foolishly thinking that Dante wants to be a family with her, Isabelle and Treyvion (who isn't even his son), but really he's using her for her money.

After this week,
The Challenge: Invasion of the Champions is about to get a lot more interesting!

Picking up from last week, at the Shelter, the house gets a clue in a bucket: "Tomorrow's the only time in this game that you'll want to be a floater." Definitely meaning something with water! Surprise little twist, though: those have earned their way into the Oasis, though, get to kick back and watch! Looks like they get a break from competing since they've already won a spot in the real house!

RECAP: The Challenge: Invasion of the Champions Season Premiere

MTV

Man, I missed The Challenge! The latest installation of the hit show is back on MTV, and I'm recapping every step of the way!

This season is The Challenge: Invasion of the Champions...only the people in the house right now don't know that yet. In Krabi, Thailand, we see 18 underdogs — some who have competed before and some who haven't. There's a lot of new faces from these seasons of Real World and/or Are You The One (which I don't watch anymore so I wouldn't know who's who and where they're from) and some old. However, the common factor among them all is that none of them have actually won a challenge.

This season of Being Mary Jane is really looking to be one of growth for our girl MJ!

Picking up from last week, MJ pitches a story idea about a kid in New Jersey, Calhoun Jeffries who was wearing a kilt out and about. His dad sees him, and smacks him around for it, eventually dragging him away, which sparks a conversation online about fashion statements like this and acceptance in the black community. Does it really determine gender or sexual identity, or is it just fashion...and was the dad in the wrong or was he just trying to protect his kid?

RECAP: "Getting Real"- Being Mary Jane S4, E3

BET

Finally, we got a new episode of Being Mary Jane last night! It’s been a few weeks, and I know I’ve definitely been missing it.

Picking up from the last episode, Mary Jane goes to visit Paul, Jr at a condo in NYC valued at $15 MILLION! I guess PJ’s into luxury real estate now. Turns out that he's managing the place while one of his clients is out of the country. Mary Jane wants him to find her a nice spot like that…but at a much lower price obviously.

At Great Day USA, Mary Jane has to now with the aftermath of Ronda backstabbing her and bringing MJ’s old producer Justin (Michael Ealy) in the mix. MJ and Kara see Justin playing around with the higher ups at the network, a way to suck up to them no doubt. So now these two have to figure out how to get better stories. At that moment, as if he overheard them, Justin comes over to tell them that a segment Kara’s been working on all morning is being bumped for another interview. Oh, this is going to be a longggg arc with this guy at the network.

Last night's episode of
Being Mary Jane was a very eye-opening one for our girl Mary Jane!

Picking up from last week, MJ is still reeling from Ronda telling her that there's real chance of advancement for her at Good Day USA. When Lee comes to see her, MJ just wants to dive into sex to not think about it. Meanwhile, down in Atlanta, Niecy gets it on too with her baby daddy Dante. They mention getting their own place, but Dante doesn't even have a job, so how is he about to pitch in?! He mentions that Niecy has a settlement check coming in, but she wants to put that in a trust for her kids. Dante is definitely about to manipulate her out of that money...WATCH.

That Controversial Episode of 'Urban Myths' With Joseph Fiennes as Michael Jackson Has Been Pulled

Sky Arts

That hot mess of an episode of Urban Myths starring
Joseph Fiennes as the late Michael Jackson has officially been PULLED!

The network Sky Arts planned to air a controversial episode of the series about some story that Michael took a random road trip with Elizabeth Taylor and Marlon Brando after 9/11 from NYC to LA. Besides the fact that that's just a bizarre story anyway, the major issue is that Joseph, a white man, was playing someone who was African-American!

After uproar from not only the Jackson family but also the public, Sky Arts made the decision to pull the episode, which was set to air on January 19.

Being Mary Jane is back for a new season, and Mary Jane is is a new city, with a new job, and a new attitude! And, of course, I'm recapping it all!

It's been a little over a year since the season 3 finale, and Mary Jane has moved on from SNC to a correspondent position at Great Day USA in New York City! Though she should really be focused on the new job, MJ goes to see a matchmaker, Felicia Beatty, to try to find love.  A few DAYS into being in the city, y'all. Even Felicia can read her well, and tells Mary Jane to do self-reflecting and wait a few months before trying to find a guy. But does MJ listen?

Candace Cameron Bure has made the announcement that she is leaving The View after over a year on the show. “It’s a little bittersweet for me because I’m announcing that I will be leaving The View,” she said at the beginning of the show. "It wasn’t an easy decision, but before I started The View, I already had my commitments to Fuller House and my work with the Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movies and Mysteries.”

This makes another co-host down, since Raven-Symone announced her exit from the series recently to focus on a reboot of That's So Raven.
