Lady Gaga Announces ARTPOP Album, Single, and App!

Lady Gaga has been WORKING on her hiatus! She announced to her stans, the Monsters and other fans and media on Facebook today, that she will be releasing a new album, ARTPOP, on Nov. 11, with the first single to be released on Aug. 19! She is also creating a new app that will surround the new album!

ARTPOP, which will be Gaga's third album, "musically mirrors Gaga's creative process as she passes through the mediums of each artist she collaborates with, scoring a blueprint of her journey," according to the official press release. This, results in "a 'rage' of electronic passion and fury, defining each artist's process from beginning to end." Although ARTPOP "could mean anything," for Gaga herself it is "a celebration of obsession." With a description like that, this album is sure to be very artistic! I'm expecting big things!!

I normally don't post much on weekends. First I want to celebrate the four year anniversary of The Spotlight really quick! This blog has opened several doors for me, and I'm striving to take it to another level! On to business! Wale has officially dropped his video for "LoveHate Thing," his second single off of his upcoming album, The Gifted, which will be released this Tuesday, June 25th! The visual definitely connects well with the message and style of the track. The rapper takes it old school, featuring singer Sam Dew performing with his band, in stylish suits, as the sound is reminiscent of Motown, 50s and 60s era. He reflects on his upbringing, his journey through music, and his rise in his career.

VIDEO: The Hunger Games: Catching Fire Trailer!

The trailer for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, the anticipated sequel to one of the, if not the biggest, films of last year, premiered last night at the 2013 MTV Movie Awards, which was hosted by Rebel Wilson. Just from the two minute sneak peak, we can see that this sequel definitely holds the exciting drama just like its predecessor!

Picking up from the last film, Jennifer Lawrence's character Katniss Everdeen and Josh Hutcherson's Peta Malark are announced as the victors of the 74th Hunger Games. But the winners don’t realize that with this win comes danger to their lives. "She just wants to save her skin, simple as that," says President Snow, played by Donald Sutherland. "She has become a beacon of hope to them. She has to be eliminated."
