In The Spotlight: Actress and Entrepreneur Georgina Opoku

Another great spotlight for y'all! As always, if you are or represent an upcoming artist, designer, dancer, etc., and are interested in being featured on The Spotlight, please visit our Features/Submissions page for more information.

Today, we have actress and entrepreneur Georgina Opoku!

This young woman right here is more of a Renaissance woman in my opinion...she does so much! She's the co-star of the YouTube series Quarter Water Juices, getting her PhD, starting her own business, and, most importantly, she's doing all this while being a mom! We got a chance to touch on all this and more in her interview....check it out below!

Remembering Robin Williams: Five of His Best Films

Today marks the second anniversary of Robin Williams' shocking death.  Instead of discuss and lament the circumstances behind his passing, I want to celebrate this man's amazing talent and the smiles that he's brought to so many across the globe over the length of his career.

So, to honor him, here's a list of, in my opinion, five of Robin's best films (Spoiler: Yes, I loved Good Will Hunting, and Aladdin is on my top 5 Disney films, but no, those aren't included.)!

Check them out below (in no particular order)! RIP Robin!

In The Spotlight: Frankito Arias

I'm blessed to be able to share with you all these amazing spotlights of talented artists, designers, producers, and more! I get more and more requests every month, and it blows me away! As always, if you are interested in featuring your work (or your client's work) on The Spotlight, feel free to email me!

Today we have on the blog, model/actor Frankito Arias! Frankito is relatively new to the industry, and was introduced to acting and modeling back in 2011 by his current manager, Tahyira Savanna. “The truth is, it was just something fun to do and she thought I had real skill.” The duo were both new to their jobs—Frankito to acting and modeling and Tahyira to managing—but they gave it a shot anyway. “The response was so good, we started to take it more seriously and now that I have had a taste of what it is I found my true path,” the actor admitted.

James Avery Passes Away

Very sad news to start the new year! James Avery, best known for his role as Uncle Phil on "The Fresh Prince of Bel Air," died on Tuesday, his publicist confirmed to ABC News. The actor died from complications of open heart surgery, Cynthia Snyder informed the media.

Before becoming an actor, James served in the Navy in the Vietnam War from 1968 to 1969. He returned back to the States, moving to San Diego, and wrote poetry and TV scripts for PBS, including the Emmy Award-winning production, "Ameda Speaks: Poet James Avery." In addition to Fresh Prince, he also lent his voice to several animated TV series, including "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" and "Iron Man."  Most recently, James worked on Zach Braff's film, "Wish I Was Here," which will premiere at the Sundance film festival.
