Nas Pens Open Letter To America

Nas took to his Instagram page to speak on America, speaking out on what he feels needs to be done in order to create a better nation:

"America has spent so much time, money & resources fighting wars abroad and completely fell asleep at the wheel of the war brewing within our cities, neighborhoods & blocks. We are supposed to stand for freedom & equal opportunity. That's supposed to mean MORE than just words but the actions of late just don't speak to what we are supposed to stand for. This is BIGGER than BLACK and WHITE. This is about America selling a false dream. Now we've obviously progressed since the inception of this nation but we took our eye off the ball and it feels as though things are moving backwards. As a black man, I find it difficult to understand that our biggest export (our American culture) comes from us. The people in the streets... The way the world dresses, talks, what they listen to, what they watch... That all comes from us. How can we be the ones responsible for America's biggest export & fear for our lives like we shouldn't belong here. I don't have all the answers nor do I believe anyone does, but we need to have conversations around how to improve as a nation. How do we show any ounce of progress that keeps hope alive. This is too big of a problem to be solved overnight but there needs to be some questions answered to get things back on the track of righteousness. Amazing people died for this country. We owe it to the past, present & future to come together and move this country in the right direction. This is my home just like it is anyone else's. RIP CRISPUS ATTUCKS. FIRST MAN TO DIE IN AMERICA's FREEDOM WAR & HE WAS BLACK! GOD BLESS EVERY OUNCE OF INNOCENT BLOOD SHED FOR THIS NATION & MY FAMILY.

Kelis and Nas Have a Baby Boy!!!

Access Hollywood has confirmed that R&B singer Kelis has given birth to a baby boy!!!! This is the first child for the singer, and the second for ex-husband Nas, who also has a 15-year-old daughter from a previous relationship.

"Kelis gave birth to Knight Jones last night on July 22 around 9 PM," a rep for Kelis said in a statement released to Access. "Weighing a healthy 7.8lbs, the beautiful baby boy and his mother are doing wonderful." Reportedly, Nas named the baby Knight.

We had found out Monday that Kelis had gone into labor. Kelis' rep said she chose a natural birth. Whoa...what?!!! Are you crazy Kelis?!!! I know that some people are afraid of what the epidurals might do to their babies, but oh you'd best believe that I will have mine when I get up in the delivery room!!! (one day far, far away from now btw LOL).

Kelis' mother and sister were present with her in the delivery room. A rumor has been flying that Nas was not allowed in AT ALL. Nothing has been confirmed by either of them about Nas' presence in the delivery room. But if the rumor is true, then dang, it's getting ugly already...I told you, don't let that beef between yall get in the way of you both raising this child!!!

Anyways, congratulations to you both!! Hopefully everything goes well with the raising of this baby even in the midst of your divorce.

KELIS IN LABOR!!!

R&B singer Kelis is currently in labor with her first child! It has been confirmed by Access Hollywood. This child will be the second for Kelis' rapper ex-husband Nas. Nas also has a 15-year-old daughter from a previous relationship.

Kelis announced her pregnancy at the beginning of this year, before filing for divorce from Nas in late April. The couple called it quits after four years of marriage. Since then, Kelis has filed new documents asking her estranged husband to pay spousal and child support.

Well, when I heard of the file for divorce, I was a little shocked because they seemed like a tight-knit couple with mad love for each other. But sometimes, things just don't work out. Hopefully, they pull it together for this child. You know how sometimes parents get so caught up in their own petty wars that they fail to be there for their children like they should. Hopefully, that won't happen with these two. It's a little early to be wishing you congratulations Kelis, since your behind is probably screaming for an epidural right about now LOL but I wish you a safe delivery! Will definitely give out details on the sex of the baby and the name when I find out...
